The Design Process

At Fig Landscapes, we strive to give our clients a garden that not only represents their lifestyle, but enriches their way of life.

Our aim is to help you through all stages of the design process, from initial consultation to final garden installation and ongoing garden maintenance.

Step 1. Initial Consultation

Please allow 1 - 1.5 hours on site to discuss your project and its possibilities, and to outline the design brief. Following the consultation, you will receive a design or construction fee proposal for your consideration. All design fees are charged out at $120p/h.

Any additional drawings, such as structural details, or Engineer's drawings will also be charged out at this rate.

Step 2. Garden Design and Plan

A series of visual aids will be sent to you via email in order to clarify general mood, proposed materials to be used, planting schemes and structural elements. This is a collaborative process, where your feedback is incorporated into the final design.

The next stage is a second site visit to handover your garden design, with any relevant detailed drawings. Designs generally take between 2-4 weeks to produce.

Step 3. Quotation for Installation

Following the completion of your design, a quote for construction and implementation will be handed over for your consideration.

Step 4. Council Approval

Council approval is not always required, however if needed to complete your garden, any research, preparation and lodgement will be carried out and fees related to this will be discussed upon the initial consultation
